Great Metroidvania, love the differences yet similarities from part 1. 9 outta 10.

This is by no means a continuation of AV1, but is still an absolutely outstanding game by itself. You really dont need to have played AV1 to play this game, as there isnt really any continuation in the gameplay, more so just in the story. This game also h

AV2 switches up a lot of things while Sticking to a lot of things that worked well in the first one. You still get plenty of fun items that radically alter your ability to navigate the world and get's way more inventive than just unlocking a double jump.

I went into this game thinking it wouldn't be as good as the first because of the lower score, but I was wrong. I agree that the combat is a little off but I think all that needs to be changed is adding a combat dash or dodge like many other metroidvanias

I changed my mind about my review honestly. It still urks me about hidden areas that have mandatory power ups but the music and exploration were really fun! It also warms my heart to hear Thomas is making games to support his sons special condition. I

Wow ok basically this is a really good game so far. It is NOT a copy of the first game, it is very different on its approach, but most of the feel of the first game is still in it. Most negative reviews are about the fact that it's very different and havi

The first game was remarkable in a lot of ways, setting high expectations for this sequel; so, how did it go? "Badly", many will say. By this, I suspect they actually mean "differently", as though some kind of human being designed this game, and did so wi

Great successor of the first game. If you enjoy metroidvanias this is a must play!

This is not Axiom Verge 1, and that's a good thing; both are fantastic in their own ways, and you should almost treat them as wholly separate. I found this one to be a much steeper wall to get over initially - especially given the map size, it was hard t

This is a good game, but with a few problems. Level tree is a bit out of whack, since you spend a great deal of time as the little drone, which makes those upgrades more important. Combat feels very optional given how open the world is. The open world nat

It was an OK game I guess. I loved it more than Axiom Verge 1, but it could really benefit from about 20% extra content and polish to really shine. As of now it is short and the pacing falls a bit after first half. It is less about boss fights and being

Non 100% run clocked at almost 9 hours, gameplay start kinda restricted, but get very fluid after you get some movement upgrades, history is really nice, not a lot of exposition so you need to piece things together yourself, and even then a lot is left a

Yes, Axiom Verge 2 is quite different from the first game. Yes, it's still a great game despite that.

Loved the original. A true spiritual successor to Metroid. This is just some generic platformer I couldn't force myself to like.

Huge fan of the first AV, but after giving this game 2 chances, it's just not fun.

I wish there as a "meh" button, it's not a bad game but it's not what a conventional metroidvania is known for, this game basically all about exploration, feels more like a cinematic platformer then anything else, so if this is your thing, go for it.
