Very good in terms of speed, maneuverability, and it's guns, but it has low ammo (only 340), poor armour (1-2 bullets can kill you immediately through the cockpit), and engine isn't that good in sustaining hits. but, it's definetly still good as intercept

The LA-5 series to me at least have always been the more powerful, "elite" version of a Yak if that makes sense and thats mainly because of the guns. It still doesn't have a lot of ammo but it definitely makes a bigger dent when you hit something.

Great plane
Can be a bit unstable in tight turns, but the overall handling is good.
The gun can only hold 300 rounds or so but if you know how to spare ammo thats no problem.
