1) Hard.
2) If you die, you can only continue from the flash screen, you can't juts continue from within the game.

It was a lot better than I expected. Reminded me a lot of the Contra and Metal Slug games. Lots of Easter eggs throughout each level and many that gave me a lot of laughs. I like it. :)
