While Apex as good, Surge was far better.
Surge had more items timed and reacting with the music. The items reacting and being closer to the viewer provide an immersive music video. I would love to see this form of VR experience become more common.

Apex has an interesting premise but it is far too short for the asking price. Pick it up on a heavy sale maybe if you are into this sort of thing.
