You can get portraits for free on the net and FYI portraits for Pillars of Eternity are compatible with Tyranny so if you have both games you can take advantage of that.

The female portraits look nicer than the male ones. If you play as a mage then the portraits might not fit your male character model etc, it did not for me. The male ones are meh, but the females ones seem to have a lot of work behind them
