Sundered: Eldritch Edition is a nice dungeoncrawler game with multiple endings. This perfectly can mark the stepstone between Super Metroid and whatever comes next, even if the bossfights are a bit laggy at times (because of high zooming out).

Yes! Absolutely recommend. Great action and play control. I love all the wall jumps, double jumps, and how the character majorly prolongs her air time through different attacks. Great Metroidvania game! Also Perks and a Skill Tree add more depth.
