Lost planet 2 is finally officially patched. There was a time I couldn't play LP2 due to GFWL, but with it gone it is at lease playable again. Capcom also fixed the crash issue when using a CPU with more than 6-Cores

They did it. The game works now. I have only played it single player, as a multiplayer, I am not sure.
Since the update months ago, they got rid of the GFWL and now it can be accessed with no issues. I did play for a good 30mins to 1 hour with no issues.
