it's just a poorly designed metroidvania. theres so many guns to collect, however you're most likely just gonna be using 3 - 4 of them for the entire game. the biomes makes no cohesive sense, it's like traveling to a different planet everytime you enter

Awesome game. Definitely satisfies the metroid-vania itch if you have one. It can get hard, but not for any bs reason. You just get better each time you try again until you get passed where you're losing. Feels old school in a that good kind of way.

Axiom Verge sure has a lot of combat for a game with terrible combat. Despite that it's still a good game cause it does level design and puzzles much better than most other Indie Vanias which are the parts that matter to this genre.
