Just finished one playthrough of this game after 73 hours, all on Steam Deck. Used a slightly modified version (swapped save button with highlight objects button) of the Aslan85 Geneforge 2 community template and had no problems with the controls.

Con: It's pretty much like every other Spiderweb game.

If you like old school RPGs, this is a great example. I strongly suggest starting with Mutagen - while they can be played independently of each other, they're peppered with little things that make the most sense when encountered in order.
