RNG is a bit brutal at the moment and there doesn't seem to be a way to upgrade your towers other than defeating levels. You can reset and modify the upgrade resources you have assigned to towers, though, so if you're stuck with one set of towers you can

Easy to pick up, lots of variety. The upgrades change the game, as does each level style. Challenging, but not difficult to beat (at least at easy level).
A few glitches from time to time, but pretty solid game-play mechanics.
