I've been an X-Plane user since XP10 and still an avid user with 12. To be clear, MSFS and XP12 have their strengths and weaknesses. But there is a few things that make X-Plane stand out and more appealing to me.

Made the switch from MSFS 2020/2024 and couldn't be happier, and I say this as a primarily GA/VFR flyer.
XP12 has made steady progress throughout its release with many new improvements on the horizon. The flight model and clouds/lighting demolish MSFS.
