In my opinion, may be best in the series. I got this before I got Shogun 2 and it was amazing. AI is hard and aggressive, naval battles are the best in the series, tech tree is fair, and the two unit types (traditional and modern) are very well balanced.

One of the best total war games to date! I love the naval battles so much and the mechanics of modernization are so interesting. The land battles are also surprisingly diverse at times due to the traditional / modern units.
