Finally got a chance to pick this game up again...
The addition of the explorer class vessels definitely cuts down the end game slog. Also pleasantly surprised how much better the addition of the small loops made the maps.

Once, you have got used to the controls, and used to the mechanics, This game is incredibly enjoyable to play.
Their is so much satisfaction when you build up enough resources to upgrade your ship.

Great fun! I recommend playing in Permadeath mode for maximum frustration and fun. Requires some strategy when you warp into a sector with multiple enemies with varying capabilities, and keeps you on your toes.
