I would compare this game to the initial release of risk of rain 2 (before gear box). Both games came from their 2D successor. Hyper Light Breaker has most of Hyper Light Drifter assets but, has broken off of the rpg storyline genre into a Roguelite Extra

It lacks some polish, and Dro keeps insta-jumping me on spawn after the first boss. Sometimes, keys spawn in key-locked sections (with one chest, i.e. a key for a key).
