Auto combat is a real slog. Really the game in general is super slow and just not what I would expect for a 4x game of this price.
Still in EA so I will check back after a while, but at this time doesn't feel fun.

There's no depth to this game. Combat is automatic, spell casting and summoning automatic, equipping items is automatic, there's no technology tree, no dipomacy, no trading. Train units, capture resource nodes, kill enemies. Rinse, repeat.

Full disclosure, I refunded this game after half an hour. I am an avid 4X player and this just isn't a 4X, it's a 3X at best. It's like the shell of a 4X. No tactical combat, only 4 resources to manage, it's just not a good 4X is you have played good 4X g
